Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement comprehensive network security architecture across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.

The role partners with engineering through build and cutover, ensuring architecture aligns with implementation realities. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in security architecture, firewall configuration, and cloud security, with hands-on skills in both Windows and Linux, and certifications such as Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in an Information Security Architect role.
• 7+ years with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies including protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Advanced knowledge of security technologies including encryption, data protection, and access privileges.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
• Experience with regex and JSON.
• Experience with APIs and cloud deployment tools.
• One or more Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up, including firewall policy and Azure cloud design.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess current state, design target state, build configuration, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering through build and implementation, aligning architecture with reality.
• Reviews existing security architecture to identify gaps and remediation plans.
• Estimates work scope and hours for security architecture components in projects.
• Acts as technical expert to engineering, IT, and business partners on security questions.
• Documents architecture with configuration details, not only high-level diagrams.
• Stays current on emerging network security technologies and threats.
