Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and build our security architecture from the ground up, including firewall policy, segmentation, and cloud networking in Microsoft Azure.

You will work hands-on through migrations with engineering, ensuring architecture is implemented as designed. The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering and requires close collaboration across security, IT, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in an Information Security Architect role.
• 7+ years with regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies: protocols, segmentation, access control.
• Advanced knowledge of security technologies: encryption, data protection, access privileges.
• Windows and Linux knowledge (intermediate).
• Regex and JSON proficiency (intermediate).
• Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, etc.).
• APIs experience; cloud tooling; CSPs (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• DevSecOps experience; architecture with engineering collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy and cloud architecture in Azure.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering through build and implementation, bridging architecture and engineering.
• Reviews existing architectures, identifies gaps, and remediates technical debt.
• Estimates work and hours for architecture components in larger projects.
• Acts as trusted advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners on design questions.
• Documents architecture in conceptual and physical form with configuration detail.
• Manages RSA tickets in ServiceNow and related efforts.
• Stays current on emerging network security technologies and threats.
