Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Security Architect to design and implement the network security architecture across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will work closely with engineering through build and cutover, ensuring designs are practical and fully implemented. The role requires hands-on expertise in firewall design, Zero Trust, cloud networking (Azure/AWS/GCP), and secure integration with DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field may be required.
• 7+ years as an Information Security Architect.
• 7+ years with regulatory compliance frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Advanced security technologies incl encryption, data protection, and access privileges.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
• Knowledge of regex and JSON.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, etc.
• Experience with APIs.
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM, or GCP templates.
• Experience with cloud service providers: Azure, AWS, GCP.
• DevSecOps experience.
• Security skills in runtime defense and vulnerability management.
• Experience architecting for internal customers deploying security products.
• One or more Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE).

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy and cloud architecture.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation to adapt designs.
• Reviews architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates legacy configurations.
• Estimates work hours for security architecture components within projects.
• Acts as technical expert to engineering, IT, and business partners.
• Documents architecture in detailed conceptual and physical forms, not just diagrams.
• Works RSA tickets in ServiceNow.
• Stays current on emerging security technologies and threats.
