Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement a comprehensive security architecture across on-premises and cloud environments.

This role collaborates closely with engineering to ensure seamless buildouts and secure deployments, including Zero Trust and segmentation strategies in Azure. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years in security architecture, strong experience with regulatory frameworks, and hands-on firewall/cloud tooling expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Seven or more years of experience in an information security architect role.
• Experience with regulatory frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies and security controls.
• Palo Alto Networks certifications (e.g., PCNSA/PCNSE).
• Experience with APIs and cloud deployment tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM).

Responsibilities

• Design network security architecture from the ground up, including firewall policy and segmentation.
• Lead end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, build configuration, cutover.
• Collaborate with engineering during build and implementation; adjust design as needed.
• Review existing architecture to identify gaps and remediation.
• Document architecture with configuration details, not just diagrams.
• Stay current on threats and technologies and apply to architecture.
