Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Network Security Architect to design and implement robust security architectures across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role collaborates closely with engineering through build and cutover, ensuring architectures are practical and well-implemented. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in firewall design, Zero Trust concepts, and cloud security in Azure, AWS, or GCP, plus regulatory compliance knowledge and certifications such as CISSP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience as an Information Security Architect.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies, segmentation, and access control.
• Security technologies including encryption, data protection, and access management.
• Experience with firewall platforms and cloud security design (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Certifications such as CISSP or GIAC.
• Experience with APIs integration and automation.
• Regex and JSON proficiency.
• DevSecOps environment experience.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy and cloud network architecture.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess current env, design target state, build configuration, cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation, closing gaps between design and build.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates including legacy configurations.
• Estimates work hours for security architecture components within larger projects.
• Acts as technical expert to engineering, IT, and business partners on design questions.
• Documents architecture with concrete configurations, not just high-level diagrams.
• Handles RSA tickets in ServiceNow and related RSA efforts.
• Keeps current on emerging security technologies and threats and updates architecture.
