Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and build our security architecture from firewall design through cloud networking.

You will work closely with engineering through build and cutover, ensuring architecture is implemented as designed across on-prem and cloud environments. Reporting to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering, you will lead the technical design, assess current environments, and document both conceptual and detailed configurations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in Information Security Architect role.
• Experience with regulatory compliance (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Knowledge of network technologies: protocols, design concepts, access control.
• Knowledge of security technologies: encryption, data protection, access privileges.
• Windows and Linux systems knowledge.
• Regex and JSON knowledge.
• Certifications such as CISSP or GIAC preferred.
• Experience using APIs.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with Cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• DevSecOps experience.
• Security skills: access control, runtime defense, vulnerability management.
• Experience architecting for internal business customers.
• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up including firewall policy and segmentation.
• Leads end-to-end security migrations: assess, target state, configure, cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation to adjust designs.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, designs remediation.
• Estimates work and hours for security architecture components.
• Acts as technical advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners.
• Documents architecture in conceptual and physical forms with configurations.
• Handles RSA tickets in ServiceNow.
• Stays current on emerging security technologies.
