Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement our security architecture across on-premises and cloud environments. You will work alongside engineering through build and cutover, ensuring architecture aligns with security goals.

The role requires seven or more years in information security architecture, strong knowledge of cloud platforms, and a DevSecOps mindset. Travel is low, and the company emphasizes collaboration and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in information security architecture.
• 7+ years in regulatory compliance and security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Advanced knowledge of encryption, data protection, and privilege management.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
• Familiarity with regex and JSON.
• CISSP/GIAC or similar certification.
• API experience.
• CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM, or GCP templates.
• Security features across Azure, AWS, GCP.
• DevSecOps experience.
• Security areas: access control, runtime defense, vulnerability management.
• Experience with internal customers, architecture, deployment, and troubleshooting security products.
• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA/PCNSE/PCCSE/PCSAE).

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up: firewall policy, segmentation, Zero Trust, and Azure cloud networks.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering through build and implementation, adapting design as needed.
• Reviews architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates technical debt.
• Estimates work and hours for security components in projects.
• Acts as technical expert and trusted advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners.
• Documents architecture with configuration details, not just high-level diagrams.
• Manages RSA tickets in ServiceNow.
• Keeps current on emerging security technologies and threats.
