Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Network Security Architect to design and build our security architecture—from firewall policy and segmentation to cloud networking in Azure and beyond.

You will work closely with engineering through implementation, not just hand off designs, ensuring architectural integrity throughout deployments. The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering within the CISO Office, with responsibilities spanning design, validation, and hands-on remediation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Extensive experience in an Information Security Architect role.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, design concepts, segmentation, and access control.
• Encryption and data protection expertise in security architectures.
• Regex and JSON proficiency for configuration and data exchange.
• CISSP or GIAC-type certifications preferred.
• Cloud security skills across AWS/Azure/GCP; DevSecOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up including firewall policy and cloud networking.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, configure, and cutover.
• Close collaboration with engineering during build and cutover to adapt design in real time.
• Review and remediate existing security architectures and technical debt.
• Estimate work and hours for security architecture components of projects.
• Serve as trusted advisor on network security design questions.
• Document architecture in conceptual and detailed forms, including configurations.
• Handle RSA tickets in ServiceNow and stay current with emerging security tech.
