Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Network Security Architect to design and build the security architecture for on-premises and cloud environments, working with engineering through implementation and cutover.

The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering and requires deep expertise in firewall, segmentation, Zero Trust, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with strong collaboration across IT and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Seven+ years in an Information Security Architect role.
• Seven+ years in regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST 800/CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Network technologies incl. protocols, design concepts, and access control.
• Security technologies incl. encryption, data protection, access privileges.
• Windows and Linux systems knowledge.
• Palo Alto certifications such as PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, or PCSAE.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up, including firewall policy, segmentation, Zero Trust, and cloud architecture in Azure.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, build configuration, and manage cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering during build and implementation, closing gaps between architecture and delivery.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates legacy configurations.
• Assesses scope and estimates work for security components within larger projects.
• Acts as technical advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners on design questions.
• Documents architecture in both conceptual and physical form, including configurations.
• Works RSA tickets in ServiceNow and stays current on emerging security technologies.
