Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Field Technician III in Colorado to manage network operations for the company’s communications network. You will work with a multi-vendor team, coordinate field technicians, and respond to incidents with timely escalation and documentation.

The role requires handling complex networks (layer 1–3), traveling regionally, and maintaining safety compliance while supporting a hybrid onsite/remote work model.

Qualifications

6-8 years of network management/field operations experience.
Experience with switching/routing, transport, and data using layer 1–3 equipment.
OSI Model knowledge and familiarity with T1–OC192 circuits.
Willing to travel regionally and hold a Colorado driver's license.
Must lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights with safety gear.

Responsibilities

Manage network operations for Xcel Energy communications network.
Coordinate field technicians and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Respond to high-priority incidents and document tickets in the system.
Ensure OSHA compliance and jobsite safety across assignments.
Collaborate with multiple teams to isolate layer 1–3 problems.
