Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs seeks a seasoned network professional in Denver, CO to manage and troubleshoot complex network systems across L1-L3, including switching, routing, and transport. You will operate in a demanding environment requiring on-site work, travel within the region, and adherence to strict safety protocols.

A valid Colorado driver's license and flexibility for shifts, including on-call rotations, are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires AS/AAS/BS in related field, related certifications, or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years of network management/ field operations with switching/routing, transport, and data on layer 1-3 equipment/software.
• Solid understanding of OSI model, T1-OC192, PRI circuits and related equipment, Microwave, Wireless networks, satellites, cable management, power and grounding.
• Willingness to work diverse schedules, including on-call rotation.
• Must have valid Colorado driver's license and be willing to travel regionally with overnight stays.
• Experience with documenting changes via work-ticket systems; familiarity with Motorola RF networks and high-density dispatch centers is a plus.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform in confined spaces; adherence to safety procedures.

Requirements

• AS/AAS/BS in related degree field, related certifications, or equivalent documented experience.
• 6-8 years of network management/ field operations that includes experience with switching/routing, transport, and data using layer 1 - 3 equipment or software.
• Proficient to advanced-level experience and understanding of the following: OSI Model, T1 - OC192, PRI circuits and associated network element related equipment, Microwave transmission, Wireless networks, and direct-broadcast satellites, cable management, color coding, power and grounding requirements.
• Must be willing to work diverse schedules, including an on-call rotation.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License.
• Willing to travel throughout the region area often with potential overnight stays.
• Preferred: AS/AAS/BS in related degree field, BISCI certifications or equivalent documented experience.
• Direct involvement with hardware and network element management in operations, repair, and maintenance in Enterprise environments.
• General network experience in peripheral technologies such as NOKIA, Cisco, Ciena, Infinera, Juniper, and layer 1 equipment involving T1's, DS3's, OC-level circuits.
• Experience with documenting changes via a work-ticket related system. Experience in a utility or other regulated industry.
• This role requires regular physical activity, including frequent mobility throughout the workday.
• Employees must be able to regularly lift and carry materials up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work at heights using approved fall protection equipment.
• The position involves standing and walking for extended periods and working in confined spaces requiring bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Manual dexterity is required to handle small components and operate tools safely.
• Adherence to safety procedures is required at all times.
• Preferred candidate will have experience with Motorola systems and RF networks.
• Experience with high density dispatch centers.
