Job summary

Serco is seeking a Project Manager for the Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation. The role oversees engineering and technical services for U.S. Navy surface ships, located in Yokosuka, Japan.

A DoD Secret clearance is required, with travel up to 25% for CONUS/OCONUS assignments. Ideal candidates have strong leadership and supervisory background in ship propulsion, HM&E, and combat systems, plus experience coordinating with ship’s force and reactor departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of seven years’ experience in related engineering management field, or Associates Degree with fourteen (14) years’ experience in related engineering management field.
• Five years’ supervisory experience in the area of technical assistance, maintenance, or design related to surface ships.
• Three years should be closely involved with practical aircraft carrier/surface ship maintenance and related systems.
• Two years direct experience with auxiliary, electrical and damage control systems on U.S. Naval Ships.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams providing technical guidance on HM&E and aviation equipment interfacing with combat support systems.
• Oversee inspections, examinations, analyses, repairs, and maintenance planning recommendations for naval propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
• Coordinate with ship’s reactor department prior to inspections, testing, and production work.
• Provide technical guidance on fault identification and on-site repairs of propulsion, electrical, and damage control equipment.
• Offer technical support for operation, overhaul, and repair of auxiliary machinery and hull systems as directed.
• Develop training, work packages, and manage personnel for short- and long-term contract efforts.
