Job summary

Truist Financial Corporation is seeking an Underwriter to provide multifamily mortgage loan and borrower credit analysis in support of the Credit Risk Management team. The role requires proficiency with the Agency Guide, thorough due diligence, and collaboration in a high‑production environment.

The candidate will analyze data, documents, and financial statements, ensuring accurate narratives and compliant submissions while supporting final deal terms and funding coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related experience.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with MS Office applications.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ability to take initiative with minimal direction.
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and analyze data from property owners, borrowers, lenders and third party sources to prepare mortgage loan submissions per Agency standards.
• Execute the due diligence process, maintain deal files, organize items, and coordinate with Closing to facilitate funding.
• Inspect properties and document physical and economic conditions with maps and presentations.
• Order, review and interpret third party reports to ensure adherence to agency requirements.
• Analyze borrower’s legal structure and financials in light of property and market circumstances.
• Ensure credit risk issues are mitigated and discussed with Deputy/Chief Underwriter.
• Ensure underwriting narratives accurately reflect factors affecting the transaction and that decisions are supported.
• Understand Agency Guide requirements and stay updated on changes.
• Prepare loan submission packages in compliance with Agency Guide and internal requirements.
• Assist the Deputy Chief Underwriter in completing underwriting aspects of final loan delivery package.
