Job summary

BD is a leading global medical technology company focused on advancing health. A Field-based Medical Science Liaison role is available to engage KOLs in plastic and reconstructive surgery, align medical strategy with cross-functional teams, and educate stakeholders across the territory.

You will lead with scientific excellence, manage a travel-heavy footprint (60–80%), supervise three MSLs, and ensure compliance while building lasting professional relationships within BD.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD/PharmD/NP/PA/RN preferred.
• 3–5 years of field-based MSL experience and/or plastic surgery work experience.
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery experience is required.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Align medical strategy and objectives with cross-functional partners.
• Identify and map stakeholders including KOLs, surgeons, HCPs, payers and patient groups.
• Analyze stakeholder backgrounds and networks to prioritize engagement.
• Develop outreach plans for plastic and reconstructive surgery.
• Design coordinated engagement objectives with scientific outcomes.
• Deploy educational sessions, advisory boards, and congress symposia.
• Engage via in-person/virtual KOL meetings, research, events, and digital platforms.
• Capture insights to refine medical strategy and support leadership.
• Maintain compliance and separate scientific engagement from promotional activity.
• Track activity against benchmarks and adapt tactics for value.
• Build long-term relationships as a scientific expert across the territory.
• Stay up to date on therapeutic area and study levels in plastics.
