Job summary

Jacobs’ Structural/Bridge Group is seeking a Sr. Movable Bridge Engineer with extensive experience in condition inspections and leading design teams to advance movable bridge projects in the US and Canada.

You will oversee electrical design for rehabilitation and for new movable bridges, manage inspections, and develop contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. You will mentor engineers and collaborate across offices, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET‑EAC accredited).
• PE license in the US.
• 15+ years of movable bridge electrical engineering experience.
• Substantial experience in bridge electrical design for movable structures.
• Movable bridge inspection experience.
• Experience with CAD/drawing software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on movable bridge projects.
• Oversee inspections and rehabilitation strategies.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, design calculations, reports and cost estimates.
• Develop details using CAD and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project team.
• Develop technical reports and client communications.
