Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Movable Bridge Engineer to lead electrical design for rehabilitation and new movable bridge projects across the US and Canada. The role emphasizes hands-on inspection oversight, technical leadership, and client communications within a collaborative team.

The successful candidate will bring 15+ years in movable bridge electrical engineering, PE licensure in the US, and strong CAD (AutoCAD/Microstation) skills. Travel and multi-office collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-EAC Accredited) with specialization in Electrical Power Systems preferred.
• PE in the US required or active licensure.
• 15+ years of movable bridge electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in electrical design for movable structures and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on movable bridge projects.
• Lead design teams and promote quality through innovation.
• Perform/oversee movable bridge inspections and propose rehabilitation strategies.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, reports, and cost estimates.
• Mentor engineers and support project staff with technical guidance.
• Develop CAD details and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Produce technical memoranda and client communications.
