Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Sr. Movable Bridge Engineer to lead electrical design for rehabilitation and new movable bridge projects across the US and Canada. The role involves inspection, strategy development, and directing design teams within our Structural/Bridge Group.

The successful candidate will be a licensed electrical engineer with clear communication skills and a track record in project leadership, inspections, and CAD-based detailing. Hybrid work policy applies.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with ABET accreditation.
• PE licensure in the US is required.
• 15+ years in movable bridge Electrical Engineering.
• Strong experience in movable bridge electrical design and inspection.
• Experience with industrial power distribution, instrumentation, and process control.
• Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD/Microstation).
• Understanding of AASHTO LRFD Movable Bridge Design Specifications and AREMA Recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on movable bridge projects.
• Lead design teams and ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Perform inspection and develop rehabilitation strategies for existing bridges.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, reports, and cost estimates.
• Create preliminary details and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as project technical resource.
• Communicate with clients and document technical memoranda.
