Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Movable Bridge Engineer to lead electrical design for rehabilitation and new movable bridge projects across the US and Canada. The role includes hands-on inspection of electrical equipment, mentoring engineers, and directing design teams within the Structural/Bridge Group.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in movable bridge electrical engineering, a US PE license, and strong communication skills, with willingness to travel for short-term assignments.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with ABET‑EAC accreditation is required.
• PE license in the US is required.
• 15+ years of experience in movable bridge electrical engineering.
• Experience in bridge electrical design for movable structures is required.
• Experience with inspection of movable bridges is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on movable bridge projects.
• Lead electrical engineering design for rehabilitation and new movable bridge projects.
• Perform bridge inspections and development of rehabilitation strategies.
• Prepare contract drawings, specs, design calculations, and cost estimates.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD and coordinate with CAD technicians.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the project team.
