Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on a mobile/field basis.

The role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, coordination with customers, and independent scheduling in a remote-capable position. Ideal candidates will have HS diploma, 3+ years of related experience, ASE certifications preferred, and the ability to pass DOT physical and background checks.

Qualifications

• DOT inspections experience or training preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance including FMCSA/DOT.
• Must be able to operate in field/mobile environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, cooling, and mechanical systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect and test equipment, document findings, and update RO using mobile device.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain vehicle and inventory and coordinate with customers for approvals.
