Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex on-site repairs for heavy trucks in a mobile setting.

This role demands strong diagnostics, ability to manage parts, and excellent communication with customers and teams. The position requires a HS diploma (or GED), 3+ years in related field, and DOT regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience, or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties
• ASE L2 Certification preferred but not required
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT medical card may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium, and heavy trucks in mobile/field setting
• Diagnose and repair electrical/braking/cooling/engine systems
• Inspect and test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify operation
• Manage parts inventory and service truck supplies
• Document repairs and parts used using the TRAIT app
• Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements
