Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Sr Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and on-site repairs for light to heavy trucks in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, repair, and test electrical, hydraulic, and braking systems, while maintaining a company service truck and accurate documentation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years in related fields, plus DOT certification readiness and a full tool set.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; experience in a related field typically 5 years.
• DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and on-site repairs for trucks.
• Ability to diagnose electrical/hydraulic/electronic systems and perform complex repairs.
• Must possess and maintain a set of hand tools and DOT compliance readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on light–heavy trucks in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Document work performed with RO using company devices and upload photos of parts used.
• Coordinate with customers and management to obtain approvals and PO numbers.
