Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced mechanical diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. The role emphasizes on-site leadership on jobsites and collaboration with customers to triage repairs.

The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will handle diagnostics across electrical, fuel, cooling, and drivetrain systems, with prior DOT/FMCSA compliance experience.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with 3–7 years related experience; college degree optional.
• ASE PMI, T8, 608/609 certifications preferred within 18 months.
• Must possess and supply hand tools to perform required duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light–heavy trucks in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, braking, engine and drivetrain systems.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders using company system.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and feedback.
