Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs on mobile and on-site fleet vehicles. Lead on jobsites, diagnose complex issues, and ensure safety and compliance.

You will manage parts, document findings via iOS TRAIT app, and coordinate with management for approvals. DOT regulations and safety standards are integral to daily work, with weekend requests as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' related field experience; or 5 years' related field experience.
• 3+ years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own a set of hand tools to perform job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• ASE L2 certification preferred but not required.
• DOT-related pre-employment background check and DOT physical may be required.
• Candidate must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using handheld devices, gauges, and diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck equipment.
• Document work on Repair Orders (RO) via TRAIT app and upload photos.
• Complete DOT forms and maintain accurate records in a timely manner.
• Maintain service truck and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
