Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs in a mobile field setting. You will diagnose electrical, cooling, and engine systems and work with customers to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

The role emphasizes on-site leadership on jobsites, independent scheduling, and adherence to safety standards, with a strong focus on diagnostics and customer service in a nationwide mobile fleet.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience or 5 years in related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations and requires DOT background screening and DOT physical as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using handheld devices and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs and adjustments.
• Manage parts inventory and document work using company tools and RO forms.
