Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting.

You will diagnose, repair, and test diesel systems on light to heavy-duty trucks, while coordinating with supervisors and customers on estimates and parts needs. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, owns a set of hand tools, and can work independently on a schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant field experience; alternatives possible with different degrees and 3–7 years in related field.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations and ability to pass pre-employment background and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card with remaining validity or DOT physical required if <4 months left.
• ASE certifications are preferred and listed within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections for light to heavy‑duty vehicles in mobile/field enviroment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-provided iOS tools to document RO findings.
• Communicate with management for approvals on estimates and PO numbers.
• Maintain safety practices per OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations; keep truck and tools in top condition.
