Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on a range of trucks in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems, while managing parts and documenting work via the TRAIT app.

Ideal candidates have ASE T8 PMI and ASE 608/609 certifications with 3+ years in related field, and a valid DOT-related credential. Comprehensive safety training and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• A current and valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical may be required.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications obtained within 18 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on vehicle systems including electrical, braking, cooling, and engine components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions, and other diesel equipment.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose malfunctions using handheld devices and gauges; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain the company service truck; document work on RO using TRAIT app.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations; conduct pre-/post-trip inspections.
