Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on light to heavy‑duty fleet vehicles in a mobile/field setting.

You will triage complex repairs, lead on-site tasks, and consult with customers while adhering to safety and company policies. Responsibilities include PMs, DOT inspections, electrical/mechanical diagnostics, inventory management, and accurate documentation using TRAIT on an iOS device.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ related experience; alternative combos allowed.
• ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609 certifications within 18 months.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on mobile fleets.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Inspect vehicles, test components, and validate repairs on RO docs.
• Manage parts inventory and on-truck tools; maintain safety standards.
• Document findings in TRAIT app and coordinate approvals with management.
