Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and complex repairs on mobile units nationwide. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, test rides, and document RO findings from a company-issued iOS device.

The role requires 5+ years in related field, DOT/ASE certifications preferred, and valid driving privileges. Heavy travel and a safety‑conscious work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 5 years related field experience or equivalent combination
• Must supply hand tools to perform duties
• DOT/FMCSA training and DOT background screening required
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one within spec period
• State driver’s license and clean driving record required

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on mobile units
• Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic, hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Document work orders, parts used and diagnostics on TRAIT/iOS platform
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety compliance
• Maintain service truck and manage parts inventory and daily schedule
