Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and both basic and advanced mechanical/electrical diagnostics in a mobile/field environment.

You’ll lead complex repairs, triage issues, and serve as a site consultant while adhering to safety and DOT standards. Responsibilities include diagnosing systems, testing with handheld tools, managing parts on the service truck, and documenting findings via RO and TRAIT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3–7 years related field experience.
• OTM/FMCSA/DOT regulatory compliance experience preferred.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one; DOT background screening required.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical truck systems.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and document work via RO and TRAIT app.
• Communicate with customers and team to clarify needs and approvals.
