Job summary
The Shelly Company is seeking a Mine Engineer to support operations with surveying, blasting and mine planning for permitting purposes. Relocation to Central Ohio is required, with strong emphasis on data-driven planning and safety.
Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Mine Engineering or Geology with 3+ years of related experience, and are proficient in CAD, drone surveying and MS Office. Travel and occasional nights/weekends may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or equivalent.
- 3+ years related experience preferred.
- Familiarity with land surveying instruments, CAD, and mine planning software.
Responsibilities
- Conducts inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
- Surveys boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
- Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
- Use mine planning software for projects like overburden stripping, reserve estimation and exploration.
- Promote technology and engineering practices affecting safety and sustainability.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the department.
