Job summary

HDR is seeking a Military Planning Project Manager to oversee multiple facilities planning projects for DoD/DoW clients, from pursuit through completion. Responsibilities include leading cross-disciplinary teams, facilitating workshops, ensuring milestone delivery, and aligning deliverables with policies and budgets.

Preferred candidates bring DoD planning background, ability to travel internationally, and strong communication and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• 7 years related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
• Ability to interact with various design teams and strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage teams of military planners, analysts, production coordinators, editors, GIS/CAD specialists and other engineering disciplines.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and train staff for future market trends.
• Prepare and facilitate workshops and charrettes with stakeholders.
• Prepare and conduct in-briefs and out-briefs with leadership for site visits and milestones.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews to align deliverables with client contracts and policies.
• Manage project finances and risk mitigation, with internal review meetings.
• Conduct progress reviews with client project managers and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Operations and other PMs to manage personnel and deliverables.
• Prepare fee proposals and pursue new contracts; assess risks and negotiate with clients.
• Assist with client development and business development efforts to secure new work.
