Job summary

Fluidstack in New York, NY seeks a senior Power Generation Engineer to design and validate islanded grid systems for large-scale AI compute sites. You will own the grid design basis, drive a single reference design across sites, and ensure conformance of equipment specifications through the bidding and procurement process.

You will perform load flow, short circuit and stability analyses using PSCAD/RMS, and shape protection philosophy for a grid-dominated, high-availability deployment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering islanded or weak-grid power systems at 100MW+ scale.
• Hands-on load flow, short circuit and stability analysis.
• Experience with grid-forming inverter control and protection strategies.
• Ability to define a design basis and enforce vendor conformance with a formal design freeze.

Responsibilities

• Own the system design basis for islanded grid, including voltage, topology and redundancy.
• Maintain one standard design across sites and freeze design early for procurement.
• Write conformance content for equipment specifications and bids.
• Produce first-pass generation, BESS and reserve sizing and power flow studies.
• Set stability and protection philosophy and negotiate with compute side as needed.
• Oversee phasing and study roadmap to guide procurement and construction.
