Job summary

Fluidstack is hiring for a Power Generation role in New York to assess and qualify fuel-oxidation technologies, set interchangeable interface standards, and own the fleet from installation through operation. You will define unit sizing, redundancy, and integration with PV/BESS to ensure reliable, scalable AI compute capacity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience evaluating prime movers (engines, turbines, or fuel cells) for real projects.
• Ability to write equipment specifications and acceptance test procedures.
• Experience owning distributed generation in operating environments (oil & gas, mining, island utilities, data centers).

Responsibilities

• Define standard interfaces to turn engines, turbines, or fuel cells into a single modular node.
• Decide block fuel capacity, unit sizes, and redundancy for firming and backup roles.
• Write technical specifications and acceptance tests for every qualified unit.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of generation fleet through first fire and load testing.
• Manage fleet operation, including heat rate, availability, and maintenance cost tracking.
• Hire rotating equipment engineers to extend qualification and operations work across the fleet.
