Job summary

Fluidstack seeks a senior power systems engineer to own islanded/grid-forming designs for gigawatt-scale compute sites in the U.S. You will model, size and validate grids (PSCAD/RMS), build repeatable block designs, and drive protection philosophy.

Work closely with procurement and field teams to ensure conformance, write standards, evaluate vendor studies, and deliver fast deployment with reliable grid behavior for AI-scale workloads.

Qualifications

• You have delivered an islanded or very weak-grid power system of 100MW or more.
• You build models with your own hands, using PSCAD or equivalent tools.
• Experience with grid-forming inverter control and protection schemes.
• You own a system design basis and evaluate vendor/EPC studies against it.

Responsibilities

• Own the system design basis for islanded grids across sites.
• Write conformance content and vendor/studies evaluations to meet the design.
• Produce load flow, short circuit and transient stability results for decisions.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction and operations to deploy repeatable blocks.
