Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Groton, MA is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform complex chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests in a per diem capacity. You will follow established protocols, interpret results, and assist with QA procedures.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, ASCP MT preferred, and at least three years of related experience. Eligible candidates will be considered without regard to protected status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification as MT is preferred.
• Three years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests in an assigned area.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history and diagnosis.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Assists in development of new tests and quality procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed using computer-based systems.
• Ensures compliance with laboratory quality and safety policies.
