Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Technologist to work with independence performing and interpreting chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to aid diagnosis and treatment. You will ensure equipment maintenance and participate in quality control, while mentoring technicians and students in operations.

Position is non-exempt, per diem with mixed shifts; a signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification as an MT is preferred.
• Three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests and interpret results.
• Interprets and correlates test results with patient history and diagnosis.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Assists in development of new tests and quality procedures.
• Ensures test results meet the laboratory quality control program requirements.
• Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance in the assigned area.
• Instructs technicians and students in operation of equipment and procedures.
