Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for the Nashoba Valley Core Lab, serving Groton, MA and Marlborough, MA sites. The role requires performing complex tests and guiding junior staff in interpretation and quality control.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, 3+ years of experience, and preferably ASCP MT certification. Responsibilities include test development support and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across linked laboratories.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• ASCP MT certification is preferred.
• Three years of related experience required; supervisor eligibility under CLIA high-complexity rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret complex chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests in assigned area.
• Provide guidance to Medical Technologist I and Lab Technicians on test interpretation.
• Ensure tests meet the laboratory quality control program requirements.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and assist in new test development and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold safety policies; rotate to Marlboro Campus Lab as needed.
