Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification as MT is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocols to perform various tests, including the most complex for an assigned area and provides guidance to staff.
• Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition.
• Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
• Assists in developing new tests and quality procedures for the assigned area.
• Ensures test results meet the laboratory quality control program requirements.
• Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment in the assigned area.
• Instructs technicians and technologists in new equipment and procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of tests performed using computer systems.
