Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform complex tests and interpret results across hematology, chemistry, and blood bank areas. You’ll work with other technologists, ensuring quality control and troubleshooting while maintaining equipment and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (ASCP MT preferred) and at least three years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology.
• ASCP MT certification preferred.
• Three years of related experience required.
• General Supervisor qualification under CLIA for high-complexity testing with appropriate degree or equivalence.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret tests across chemistry, hematology, and blood bank areas.
• Explain test results in the context of patient history and diagnosis.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and maintain equipment and quality procedures.
• Instruct and guide lower-level technologists and technicians.
• Rotate to Marlboro Campus Lab as needed and ensure compliance with safety policies.
