Job summary

The US Oncology Network’s Texas Oncology in Plano Presbyterian is seeking a Scheduler to join the team. This is a full-time Monday–Friday position with hours 8:30am–5:00pm, and no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Level 1, 2 or Sr will be offered based on experience. You will schedule patient appointments and tests, answer calls, process referrals and authorizations, collect co-pays, and maintain the scheduling template.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years’ experience preferably in a medical office setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic scheduling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers’ needs and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new patients and referrals per physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductible and other out-of-pocket amounts at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates for physician meetings, satellite schedule, call coverage.
• Coordinates for financial counseling as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to policies.
• Covers for other front office functions as requested.
