Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler to join our Medical Oncology team in Dallas, TX. This full-time role supports patient scheduling, referrals, and front‑office operations in a fast-paced clinic. Hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional floating to DFWW region sites as needed.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, experience in a medical office, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-3 years’ experience in medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
  • Minimum three years office experience (Level 2) preferred in a medical office setting.
  • Minimum five years office experience (Level Sr) preferred in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and direct to appropriate staff.
  • Schedule new patients and referrals per guidelines.
  • Enter insurance information and referrals in EMR.
  • Collect co-pays and other payments at time of visit.
  • Maintain scheduling templates and front office coverage.
  • Arrange for financial counseling as needed.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to policies.
  • Support front office and prepare correspondence and forms.
  • Schedule outpatient appointments/tests and pre-certifications as needed.
  • Coordinate post-operative follow-up appointments with physicians.
  • Understand medical terminology and codes relevant to scheduling.
