Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Practice Manager to oversee daily operations for physician, CNM and NP practices. Reporting to the Director of Practice Operations, you will collaborate with Medical Director and staff to ensure high-quality patient service and an efficient, compliant environment.

Responsibilities include workforce management, budgeting, scheduling, patient access improvements, and coordination with hospital leadership across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 3–5 years in a physician's office, medical secretary/clinical assistant.
• Knowledge of medical billing and terminology.
• Positive interpersonal skills; ability to teach and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages practice operations to provide high-quality patient service and efficient, compliant workflows.
• Partners with leadership to implement office policies and improve workflows.
• Performance management of staff, including evaluations and addressing gaps.
• Cultivates a collaborative work environment and facilitates staff development.
• Oversees rotations of residents/fellows and manages related operations.
• Plans and operationalizes departmental goals with clinical leadership.
• Oversees multi-site or multi-specialty practices and manages vendor relationships.
• Screens and processes hiring, training, orientation, and onboarding of staff.
• Monitors provider schedules and adjusts workflows as needed.
• Plans and monitors budgets; identifies revenue opportunities and variances.
• Processes payroll and pays staff according to policy.
• Monitors revenue cycle activities including billing and referrals.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and liaises with hospital departments.
• Addresses patient concerns and billing issues to ensure quality service.
• Supports marketing strategies to attract new patients.
• Facilitates education and training for staff and providers.
• Leads staff meetings and ensures follow-up on issues.
• Assists leadership with oversight of division-related matters.
