Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York is seeking a Coding Compliance and Education Specialist to support the VP of Revenue Cycle in auditing provider documentation and coding, and to develop an education platform for training clinicians on ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

The role emphasizes auditing, training, and collaboration with EPIC systems, third-party payers, and internal teams to optimize reimbursement while ensuring billing compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years’ experience in physician/provider coding, auditing and education.
• Two years’ experience with EPIC EMR.
• Coding certification (CCS, RHIA, RHIT) or applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to mentor and educate providers across teams.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performs charge audit/coding review to determine appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Review and identify accurate utilization of modifiers for billing compliance.
• Identify documentation integrity opportunities to optimize reimbursement.
• Develop audit programs for new providers and ongoing education platforms.
• Collaborate with EPIC hosting organization to implement automated solutions.
• Educate providers and stakeholders; mentor related duties as needed.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align clinical ops and billing.
