Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Coding Auditor & Educator to apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding across hospital and system-wide settings. You will onboard and educate staff, conduct audits, and implement regulatory coding changes, collaborating with the Coding Service Center leadership to standardize practices nationwide.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Current AHIMA credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCSP/RCC) or AAPC credentials (COC/CIC/CPC/CPCH).
• Five years coding experience in acute care coding for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Two years internal auditing and/or coding education experience.
• Epic and 3M 360 experience.
• Inpatient and outpatient coding knowledge and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide written rationale and evidence for audit findings.
• Deliver educational feedback to coding staff via emails, presentations, and sessions.
• Guide staff and management in resolving coding issues and questions.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities affecting coding accuracy.
• Perform internal audits and follow-up education, monitor system trends.
• Conduct pre-billing reviews of challenging cases and train new staff.
