Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer V (Team Manager) in the Controllable Solid Propulsion group at our Folsom, CA location. The role leads a ~10‑engineer team, guiding design, analysis, and development of controllable solid propulsion systems. Reports to the Director of Engineering in a hybrid or remote setup.

The successful candidate will drive design optimization, provide technical leadership, and collaborate across disciplines to meet mission‑critical objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or related engineering with 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Strong CAD/technical drawing skills with SolidWorks and GD&T expertise.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage cross‑functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for solid propulsion systems, igniters, pressure vessels, actuators, and thrusters.
• Develop 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, and tolerancing analyses.
• Run thermal, structural, dynamic, and combustion simulations and optimize designs.
• Provide technical direction and oversight for the mechanical engineering discipline.
• Mentor team members and support planning, budgeting, and hiring.
