Job summary

Voyager Technologies in Folsom, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineer V – Structural Analyst for Controllable Solid Propulsion to perform structural analysis across hardware systems.

This role reports to the Analysis and M&P Team manager within the Strategic Systems Division and offers remote work with preference for in-office in Folsom, Reno, Huntsville, AL, or Long Beach, CA, to collaborate across disciplines and ensure hardware success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Applied Physics, or related engineering with 10+ years experience, or Master’s with 8 years.
• Experience with FEA software (Ansys, Femap, Nastran, Abaqus) and linear & non-linear static, dynamic, and elastic stability analyses
• Motivated and able to perform duties autonomously without significant supervision
• Well organized with clearly defined scope and path forward

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis to quantify safety margin against primary strength failure, fatigue life, and fracture using first principles based methods and advanced analyses.
• Develop computational models and run simulations of structures under high pressures, thermal gradients, and vibration.
• Collaborate across disciplines to guide design decisions and risk management throughout the hardware lifecycle.
• Support hardware tests for physics-based modeling validation, subscale and full-scale system qualification and acceptance.
• Develop and implement advanced analysis methodologies and tools; stay current with advancements.
• Document analysis process and results for varied stakeholders; convey technical concepts clearly.
