Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team invites a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Team Leader to guide the mechanical engineering group on diverse, high‑quality building projects. You will lead technical directions, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure designs meet client requirements and codes.

This in‑office role demands strong leadership, detailed design mastery, and a track record of delivering large or complex facilities. PE licensure and ABET‑accredited degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• 12–15 years of building mechanical engineering experience, incl. large or complex projects.
• Technical leadership or engineering management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering Team, manage workload, staffing, and budgets.
• Conduct performance reviews and mentor staff.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and design approaches.
• Lead HVAC system design and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review project documents for quality and compliance.
• Perform field investigations and site observations.
