Job summary

Stantec invites a Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical to guide technical design for data center projects across our global teams. The role includes mentoring junior staff and coordinating multi-discipline design efforts to meet client goals and quality standards.

The position emphasizes leadership, cutting-edge design for mission-critical facilities, and collaboration with clients and engineers across locations, including eligible US offices.

Qualifications

• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10+ years related industry experience preferred.
• Mission critical/data center experience required.
• PE license or similar professional certification.
• Proficient in Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit; hydraulic modeling Tools and CFD knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the business development team in new project pursuits and participates in project interviews.
• Manages technical project process and scope within own discipline; reviews schedule and budgeted hours.
• Delegates tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline.
• Follows quality management process and QA/QC approvals.
• Builds and maintains strong client relations and communicates progress to clients and staff.
• Leads technical discussions and mechanical workgroups to meet project objectives.
• Coordinates with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests.
• Acts as supervisor and mentor to the design team and staff development.
• Keeps up-to-date with data center requirements and technologies; participates in meetings and conferences.
• Develops design guides, memos, and calculation templates for data center design.
