Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join our Plano team. You will lead the design of complex mechanical systems, develop documentation, and guide a project team through all lifecycle phases.

You will collaborate with architects and other engineers, participate in client meetings, and ensure design quality and coordination across disciplines. Regular supervision of staff and ongoing mentoring are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 15+ years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects and develop full documentation for new construction and renovations.
• Participate in client meetings to establish design criteria and review progress.
• Engineer mechanical systems and prepare design sketches and models.
• Lead coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide QA/QC and mentor junior staff.
