Jabil in Virginia is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer – LV Switchgear to own mechanical design from concept to production, ensuring safety, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable standards.

You will lead thermal analysis, enclosure layouts, and DFx initiatives while collaborating with global teams and customers. Requires 10+ years in mechanical engineering and CAD proficiency; on-site 3 days/week in Prince George, VA; competitive pay range.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
10+ years mechanical engineering experience with LV switchgear or power distribution products.
Demonstrated technical leadership on mechanical execution from concept to production release.
Strong CAD proficiency using Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD platforms.
Knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, IEC 61439, NEMA, IEEE C37.20.1, ANSI/IEEE switchgear standards.
Experience with FEA, CFD/thermal analysis, and structural simulations.

Mansioni

Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
Lead enclosure systems, busbar support, insulation interfaces, and related mechanical assemblies.
Lead thermal engineering activities including airflow design, CFD modeling, and thermal validation testing.
Lead design transfer, production ramp, and engineering change across global sites.
Ensure compliance with relevant UL/IEC/NEMA standards and customer requirements.
